The board of directors under Curtis' leadership has created a number of committees to reflect how most Kiwanis clubs are organized. Look at the committees below and determine where you feel comfortable. In order for our club to better serve the children of our area, we all must become active in some aspect of the club.

Key Clubs |
Key Club International, the largest high school service organization in the world, empowers its members to lead and serve by cultivating leadership skills, developing friendships, and performing community service. |

The Southlake Club currently sponsors two Key Clubs, one at Carroll High School and one at Colleyville Heritage High School. |

Responsible for ensuring that the public receives, through the media and other means, the objects, goals, programs, and achievements of Kiwanis International and the club. |

MEMBERSHIP GROWTH AND EDUCATION |

Strives to increase membership according to the standards provided in the bylaws. The committee should consider all Membership Applications and submit its recommendations to the board of directors. The committee should also develop an effective orientation and induction ceremony for new members and promote regular attendance by all members at club meetings. |

HUMAN AND SPIRITUAL VALUES |

Implements projects that support spiritual development, provide human companionship and comfort, or offer counseling and guidance. Projects can encourage interfaith and interdenominational religious activity, such as prayer, but should not support a specific religious sect. Popular projects include prayer breakfasts, layman of the year awards, transportation to religious services, visits to nursing homes, and support of grief counseling. |

FINANCE AND FUNDRAISING |

Responsible for preparing a budget of estimated income and expenses for submission to the board of directors, as well as any recommendations it may have on financial matters of the club. It is also responsible for securing the funds necessary to meet budget requirements. |

COMMUNITY SERVICE |

|
Responsible for coordinating various community service projects. These include helping the Save a Smile program, supporting the Lake Dallas Boys and Girls Club, and addressing special needs in the community. Bill is in the process of putting together a leadership program for the Carroll High School students.
One of the Service Committee goals for 2010 is to participate in "Kiwanis Young Children Priority One Program". |
