7-ON-7 Football Tournament Concession Stand - Dave Folsum
Twice a year the club sponsors a 7 on 7 football tournament abd man a concession standat Carroll high school. With teams from area high schools down to 5th grade on the field, there will be plenty of fast-paced offensive football on display. Games are slated to begin at 8 am on the field behind Durham intermediate and the Carroll High School (off White's Chapel.) Admission is free to the public. Concessions will be available and provided by Southlake Kiwanis, who is also the sponsor for the event. All monies raised by our local Kiwanis group are given back to the community and benefit programs for kids. Game schedules will be posted at http://www.primetimesportz.com/football/ . The June event raised over $3,800 and the club donated a large amount of the left over food to the Lake Dallas Boys and Girls Club.
Run for Kids - Mike Tesoriero
on the second Saturday of May the Southlake Kiwanis hosts a Run for Kids 5K to raise money for its community service projects. 2010’s race was held at the Southlake Town Square Saturdayry May 8 and had more than 377 entrants. Sponsored by Asics and many other local organizations the event raised over $35,000. Race logistics were coordinated by Run Time Racing Services of Fort Worth who also put on The Cowtown Marathon along with many other local races. Objective
The Southlake Kiwanis Club wants to increase the scope and community exposure of future races in order to:
Create a community centered annual event
Increase fundraising potential
Increase awareness for local children’s charities
Safety Town, Battered Women’s Foundation, Adopt‐a‐Family, Save a Smile and more.
With the support of Run Time Racing Services a 5K course that starts and end at McPherson Park in the northwest corner of Southlake Town Square..
